Frequently asked questions about urgent taxi delivery

Direct answer

An urgent delivery taxi collects a parcel in Paris or Île-de-France within 30 to 60 minutes and drives it straight to its recipient, in France or anywhere in Western Europe. The same driver stays responsible for the shipment from pickup to hand-over, which removes the sorting hubs, the vehicle changes and the overnight depot stops of standard express freight. The indicative rate starts at €40 for a run within Paris, then applies €2.63 per kilometre beyond the first ten, plus €10 for putting a dedicated vehicle at your disposal.

Is a taxi allowed to carry parcels without a passenger?

Yes. A licensed taxi operator may carry goods and documents for payment, with the journey recorded on the taximeter like any other fare. It is a long-standing and perfectly regulated practice: what matters is that the pickup takes place inside the licence's home zone, which is the case for any collection in Paris or Île-de-France.

How long between my call and loading?

In Paris and the inner suburbs, allow thirty to sixty minutes between your call and the driver reaching the pickup point. In the outer suburbs it is often one hour to ninety minutes. If you know the time in advance, a scheduled job guarantees the slot to the minute.

How is the price calculated?

The basis is simple: a €40 pickup charge, then €2.63 per kilometre beyond the first ten, plus €10 for the dedicated vehicle assigned to your shipment alone. The online calculator measures the real road distance and applies that rate card. Tolls and fuel are already included.

What if the journey takes longer than expected?

The figure shown online is an honest estimate based on the most direct route. On arrival, the certified taximeter is the reference. In practice the gap is small; when there is one, it comes from a detour requested en route, waiting time on site or a regulated hourly surcharge.

Do you deliver outside France?

Yes, across Western Europe. Brussels, Luxembourg, Geneva, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Milan, Barcelona and London are regular routes. For Switzerland and the United Kingdom, customs paperwork — ATA carnet, pro forma invoice, export declaration — is supplied by the sender and presented by us at the border post.

Can I have something very valuable delivered?

Yes, and it is one of the cases where a dedicated taxi makes the most sense: your shipment never leaves the cabin and passes through no depot. For a high declared value, tell us when booking so an ad valorem insurance extension is arranged before departure.

What volumes do you accept?

In a saloon, the equivalent of three suitcases: envelopes, cartons, garment bags, medium-sized parts. In a Mercedes V-Class van, up to eight or ten bulky items, panels, flight cases or garment bags carried flat. Beyond that it is no longer a taxi fare but a charter, and we will say so plainly.

Do we get proof of delivery?

Always, at no extra cost. As soon as the hand-over is done you receive a time-stamped photo of the parcel in the recipient's hands, the name of the person who took delivery and the GPS position of the delivery point. The receipt follows by e-mail.

Do you work at night, on Sundays and public holidays?

Yes, without interruption. Most aviation and hospital jobs actually leave outside business hours. Night, Sunday and public-holiday surcharges are those set by the prefectoral order and appear on the meter.

Is a deposit required?

No. No advance payment is asked for and cancellation is free until the driver starts moving towards the pickup point. Payment is made on arrival by card, in cash, or on invoice for business accounts.

Can we open a business account?

Yes. For regular clients we open an account with a monthly consolidated invoice, a job reference carried on every run and a single point of contact. That is the standard arrangement for procurement departments, law firms and laboratories.

What do you not carry?

Anything falling under dangerous-goods regulations: explosives, pressurised gases, flammable, radioactive or category A infectious materials. We also decline live animals, full pallets and loads requiring a tail lift. In those cases a licensed freight carrier is the right answer and we will point you to one.

How long does it take to reach Lyon or Brussels?

Around five hours twenty of driving for Lyon and three and a half hours for Brussels, barring exceptional traffic. Because the vehicle leaves as soon as the parcel is loaded, the real door-to-door time is almost always shorter than express freight, which only collects at the end of the day.

What really sets you apart from a courier?

Three concrete things. The taxi licence, which opens bus lanes and allows a stop at the door. The complete absence of transfer, since the driver who loads is the driver who hands over. And the certified meter, which makes the price verifiable instead of resting on an internal scale.

How quickly can you collect?

Thirty to sixty minutes in Paris and the inner suburbs. The vehicle does nothing but your job: it leaves as soon as the parcel is ready, not at the hour of a scheduled round.

How is the shipment protected in transit?

It stays in its original packaging, inside the cabin, wedged or strapped according to its shape. No other shipment travels with it and nobody but the driver handles it.

What proof do we receive on delivery?

A time-stamped photo taken at hand-over, the name of the person taking delivery and the GPS position of the delivery point. All of it reaches you immediately, at no extra cost.

How far can you go?

Anywhere in France and Western Europe, without changing vehicle. Beyond seven hundred kilometres we arrange a driver relay so the vehicle can run without a regulatory break.

Which vehicle will be sent?

A saloon for envelopes, documents and parcels up to the equivalent of three suitcases. A Mercedes V-Class van for volume, garment bags carried flat and flight cases. You choose when booking.

Do you work outside business hours?

Yes, twenty-four hours a day, weekends and public holidays included. A large share of this sector's jobs leaves precisely at night or on a Sunday.

Can we open an account with monthly invoicing?

Yes. We set up a business account with a job reference on every run, a monthly summary and a single point of contact.

How long does a taxi take from Paris to Lyon?

About 5h 20 of actual driving for 466 km, barring exceptional traffic. Because departure happens as soon as loading is done, without waiting for a round or a flight, the door-to-door time is generally shorter than any other option.

What does a Paris — Lyon delivery cost?

The indicative rate is 1 236 € one way, dedicated vehicle, tolls and fuel included. That figure is the distance-based rate card applied to the real road distance.

Is it the same driver for the whole journey?

Yes up to seven hundred kilometres. Beyond that, driving-time regulations require a relay: a second driver takes the wheel at an agreed point, but the parcel never leaves the vehicle.

Can a same-day return to Lyon be done?

It depends on the distance and the departure time. The vehicle stays assigned on site as long as needed, then drives back with your return shipment. Distance is counted both ways.

What happens for a night delivery in Lyon?

Nothing unusual: we drive at night as we do by day. The night surcharge set by the prefectoral order applies on the meter, and hand-over is made to the person you have named, whatever the hour.

Are any special documents needed for Lyon?

For a destination inside the European Union, no customs paperwork is required. For Switzerland and the United Kingdom, the sender provides the ATA carnet, pro forma invoice or export declaration, which we present at the border post.
